Mission Statement
I am an independent software engineer based in the Netherlands, Europe,
developing software using Visual Basic .NET as my development environment of
choice. The sort of applications I develop for clients range from small
utilities to large complex object oriented systems.
My goal is to create highly efficient applications. With efficient I don't mean
the fastest running application but the application with the best value for
money. This means programs without a lot of neat features and gimmicks that look
nice but serve no business purpose. It also means that it is sometimes (usually)
preferable to develop quickly in a high level language and buy faster hardware
than developing slowly in a faster running low-level language. To achieve these
goals I use several tools and techniques like object oriented development,
design patterns and 3rd party tools.
My clients range from small software companies to large government agencies. The
services provided range from end user application development to researching the
pros and cons of using new techniques like three tier client server.
Microsoft has recognized my efforts and awarded me with the MVP award in 2005
and 2006. Being an MVP results in a much closer cooperation with Microsoft,
something that is beneficial for both me and my customers.
